I had burnt two sessions of data in the DVD disk. When I wrote the third session, after burning, i received an error message that it encountered an error and hence closed as failed. Afterwards I am not able to read the disc at all. Even the first two sessions are not readable.

Then I used nero to collect the information of the DVD. It returned a message that the third session is not closed. I have attached the screen shot of that to this. Can some experts suggest how to revive this disc?

Thanks.

AS I was not able to add the screen shot, I am reproducing the contents of the image:
DVD Session
Session 1 3630MB
Track 1 - ISO 9660 / Joliet (mode1)
Session 2 729MB
Track 2 1905680 746368 kb (ISO 9660 / Joliet (mode 1)
Session 3 is open
Track 3 2288608 768kb Data (Mode-1)

I would request the moderator to tell me how to add an image to the message: The advanced options does not take me to the other options.

Several ways to add a pic,but you're going to have to upload the pic/s to a host site:

1)I usually upload my pics to photobucket.com and it is free.
You'll have 4 choices after you upload your pic/pics there. The choices are under each pic in your album after uploading:

A)Email + IM: This will be a direct link to that pic. Copy the web address and paste it in your post.Someone reading the thread will see blue letters, click on it and that pic pops up.

B)Direct link:Copy the web address and paste it into your post. Then add the image brackets, the pic will pop up when someone reads the thread. Example, but don't add the asterisks:

[*img]mypicatphotobucket.com[/*img]

No asterisks ** and small case letters for img and /img. I include the asterisks so it didn't look like a real image and get a big red X.The brackets you used in your opening post are ok,just needs a valid web address inbetween them.

C&D)HTML and IMG code: I haven't messed with.

Or:

2) Set up your user profile here at AD,upload those pics to your profile. Open up the pic right click/properties of that pic, copy the web address, and paste it in the post.Very similar to (A).No brackets to mess with. It'll be a direct link, when someone clicks the blue link, you'll see a small pic. The pic will be small, and any writing my be hard to read,at least for my setup.

3) Do the same as #2,but add the image brackets around the web address, just like (B). Your pic will pop up instantly when someone checks out the thread.

BTW: Screen shots will be in Bitmap format,so people with dial-up will be irked-Bitmap is larger, making it take longer to open up.Just in case you weren't aware or people popping in and wanting to know how to post pictures in their posts:

You can simply change that format to JPEG or like I prefer,PNG format.Take your normal screen shot by pressing ALT and PRINTSCR keys at same time. Open up paint. Click Edit/ paste and that screen shot should pop up.After finishing up any editing, Then click file/Save AS. Then select folder for that pic. You can name that folder- Uploaded Pics or something easy to remember.Below Select Folder, is "Save as Type": Scroll to JPEG or PNG/Save and your pic will be there for when you upload it.It'll now be a smaller size, a lot less people upset, and also quicker to upload to photobucket or AD user prifile and it'll still be a very good quality pic.

If you want to practice with it before posting the pic/s here, just PM- Private Message- yourself and you'll see the result. It's at the top of the page.

Good Luck

Any other problems,just PM me.

how to close the session 3 which was not closed due to a write error. Even if I can close the whole DVD, it is OK. I am unable to read any of the sessions of this DVD. I have about 3GB of information in this DVD.

I look forward to a solution so that I can read the whole contents.

Oh dear.. that's the problem with windows.. The first 2 sessions will still be inaccessible even if you manage to close session 3. Nothing wrong with the disk.. the problem is a limitation in XP.

You need isobuster or magic iso to get at the data.
