I have seen numerous mentions of pooping and crackling audio, but always they seem to be talking about during or after the burning process. I get popping audio anytime I even put a sound file in Nero Movie Maker. The sound from a DVD movie I edit and turned to mpeg4 was as far as I could tell flawless, but when I try to make a movie or Slideshow, ANY audio I put into the Movie Maker has pops. I first saw the problem when I ripped audio from a CD. So I jumped through many Logic hoops, in a process of elimination game, and ruled out the DVD player itself by verifying the CD (as well as DVD's) played correctly in WMP, Realplay, etc.... I also emailed a sound file to myself from a nother computer to verify that it was not the sound file that I was using that was the problem. Whether I put mp3, wav or Nero Recording Studio type files in the audio track section of Movie Maker or Slideshow creator (I am trying to make videos of my GF's songs for Youtube and Myspace); I get the pops. This is before any burning or exporting or saving of any kind occurs. I browse for the file, put it in Nero. Instantly a clear file develops POPS, and these POPS stay there when it is changed into a video format, so all of my videos would have those pops if I can't fix the problem. Could this be a codec problem? I find it ironic that I can take a DVD and Edit it, add text etc, and convert to a mpeg4 with no probs whatever, but as soon as I try to add the lowest form of digital life, an audio track, it goes wonky on me?I have a New (Vista Home premium, unfortunately) HP Pavilion Turion64*2 1.9 Ghz with two gigs of RAM and more than 70 GB of free space. I have encountered identical problems with Nero 7 and 8; and for some reason cannot get Roxio to even work on my computer; which may or may not be a whole other story. I have seen a CODEC mention for Cinepak (what is Cinepak anyway?)errors, but haven't written it down, (I give this general info to show that I may possibly have CODEC problems) I have DL'd but not installed the K-Lite Pack, as I don't want to do more harm than good to the computer, and am not entirely sure what will happen if I use it. Thanks to anyone who can help.
