I'm asking advice on which software to purchase for conversion and formatting of many different movie file types to burn to dvd. I currently have Nero4 vs 4.7.0.1.9 that came with a new HP Lightscribe DVD burner. It was working at first but I think the software has expired. I've checked for updates but would like to know what's better. I prepared to invest in whatever software, I'm extremely serious about archiving movies.
Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for replying cyprusrom. Do I need to completely remove Nero b4 dl DVD Flick? Will I be able to watch these movies on my DVD player that's connected to my Home Entertainment Media Center, after having converted and burned the movie files to DVD?
Many thanks!!

You do not have to uninstall Nero. Yes,the DVD will play in any standalone DVD player(unless you have a picky player that does not like burned DVD+/-R)

I normally use "High Quality-2 pass encoding". It is a bit slower, but the quality is excellent. Make sure you use the correct setting for your region, PAL or NTSC.

Is "High Quality-2 pass encoding" software I need to add and what should the setting be for PAL AND NTSC?

Follow the link I provided above, it is a guide for DVD Flick. It will explain the quality and the region settings. Where are you situated, Europe, USA, Australia...?

if you have downloaded RAR files, that ia a compressed archive. You use Winrar to extract the original files, and you will get your movie files that can be loaded in DVD Flick.

Ok, cyprusrom. The burn was not a success. The audio is not in sync with the video. The audio is slower than the video. I followed the link and did everything it said. Also, do you know anything about lightscribe DVD drives as to burning images to the top-side?
