You know how you can right click on a folder or the dektop and click on New to create a new file on your computer? Well, is it possible to remove a selection in that?
Thanks

Sorry that you misunderstood. I don't really know how to explain, so I will give you an example. I right-click on the desktop, then bring my mouse over to new. Then I have several selections, such as folder, shortcut, text document, and way more. Do you know how can I get rid of some of them?

I've only glanced at the link Crab56 sent you for a couple of seconds, but i do think it should tell you how to delete some of those options...

Not really sensible.. it removes the option from the shell command set.
Surprisingly programs use some of those functions to make files and folders during normal running.
Have a look at these tweaks instead, they shouldn't break the shell like the previous could.. not saying it will..

Be careful.. XP is very fragile when you start hacking it like that.

I am trying to delete advrcntr2.dll and am getting the prompt "Cannot delete, access is denied. Make sure the disc is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use." Any ideas?

I usually find something is running in background using that file. Then you cannot delete it. Why do you need to delete it ?
