if i were to rip a blu ray dvd into like a divx or avi, how big would the file be if i kept the quality? if i did not lower the bitrate of the video or lowered anything, how big would it be if it was in avi/divx format?
Well, if you have a Blu ray drive on your PC, yes you can rip it. That's not the part that is not possible to be done. The part where you keep the same bitrate, hoping to preserve quality, and convert to Avi, that's not possible. You can't just go crazy on the bitrate and hope for the best picture quality. The stand alone players will only play video up to certain bitrate and certain resolution, and the codecs will only encode to a certain max bitrate.
The Blu Ray is encoded to 30-40Mbs? You can't do that with Divx, not even with Divx HD. Maybe you get a max of 8-10Mbs before the player chokes...
i dont plan on like watching it on a standard dvd player. if i were to watch it on my computer after it is converted to avi, can i still keep the quality bitrate?
