i got metal gear solid with 2 cds, and i had 3.71 m33-4 and the game worked fine. then i justed updated to 3.90m33-2 and the game doesnt really work properly. well when i load up the cd1 it didnt work, it goes to the psx logo and just stays blank after that. but when i go into the cd2 it goes into psx logo and it works.
You need popsloader for it to work >_>

Popsloader is a PSP plug-in that increases the compatibility with PSX games :)
For example; A PSX game works on 3.52m33 firmware but then you upgrade your PSP to 3.71m33 firmware and then game does not work >_<
This is where popsloader comes in :)
Using popsloader, you can choose 3.52 pops on 3.71m33 firmware and the game will run like how it used to run in 3.52m33 firmware :)
You can select which "pops firmware" you want your PSX game to run on :)
Now for your solution :-
-Download popsloader from HERE and extract the files :)
-Now, download the .prx files of pops for 3.71 firmware from HERE and place the 4 ".prx" files inside the "seplugins\popsloader" folder of the file you previously downloaded :)
-Now, put the folder named "seplugins" to the ROOT of your PSP memory stick :)
-Now, when you start your PSX game, a menu should come up :)
*If it doesn't come up, then while starting the PSX game, press the "R" button (Right trigger) on your PSP and a menu will show up*
-Choose "3.71" *If you choose any other firmware, then your PSP will freeze as I only gave you the .prx files of 3.71 pops* ^_^
-Your game should work now :)

I think i have my popsloader working properly, i hold R and the pops menu shows up with the list of diff fw but 3.52 dosnt seem to fix the MGS freeze problem when fighting liquid snake in the Hind. Im on 3.71 m33-4 and i have all the different fw .prx files in the popsloader folder, am i doing somthing wrong or is something messed up with my eboot? Any info would be great tyvm.
i found a way but you have to use cwcheat. type in "psp to ps1 compaibility" and click on the link that says thegamerspress on it, scroll down to mgs and look at the link to the right. I think it is psycospacefish or somthing, it has directions to trick the game into thinking the disc 1 save is now a disc 2 save. I never did get my game past the freeze point so now im thinking its my eboot. GL
