ok so i have a fat psp 3.30 OFW and i wanted to know how to update to 3.80 m33 and every time i try it says the game cannot be started error 800204 something like that please help

you CANNOT upgrade directly to custom firmware from official. you will have to downgrade to 1.50, or use pandora's battery and magic memory stick to get custom firmware.

you'd have to upgrade to 3.50, and downgrade with lumines and the lumines exploit.
i'd suggest to use THIS guide, as it's safer on the psp.

if you use the guide, you don't need lumines and the exploit. you have a higher chance of bricking using the lumines exploit.

if you follow the guide closely, you'll see that you're not suppose to run any programs on the psp.
you have the magic memory stick, now you need pandora's battery.

fine then. use THIS guide, and follow exactly what it says. if you brick, then you have NO OTHER CHOICE, but to use pandora's battery and magic memory stick.
you take full responsibility for what happens. you cannot blame anyone but yourself if you brick your psp.
you CANNOT update to custom firmware on any official firmware, but 1.50. if you upgrade to 3.51 or higher, pandora's battery is the ONLY WAY.

there is no way to upgrade straight to custom firmware (they must be digitally signed by sony) without downgrading or using pandora's battery and magic memory stick. if it was that easy, pandora's battery, downgraders, exploits and all that wouldn't be needed.
