just wondering is there any noticeable difference when watching a burned dvd-r (w no video compression) on hdtv vs. pressed media(store bought)? thanks for any help... all i have thats hd is a portable toshiba and the picture quality is impressive.

No difference between a noncompressed burned DVD and a pressed DVD. Digital is digital no matter the source, as long as all sources have the same binary code.
