what would be the BEST downgrade/update or whatever to put on my PSP so that i can enjoy homebrew games, nintendo emulators AND the newest UMD titles all at the same time??

i heard that you have to choose between UMDs or homebrew, it cant be both??

You heard wrong, my friend!

Straight up answer: Install 3.90 M33 and you can have your PSP play ISO/UMD games and homebrew.

If you need help on installing 3.90 M33 then check your current version (System settings > System Info...) and I can tell you what you need.

You'd be very lucky to be on 1.50 but your probably on a higher firmware . You will most very likely need to use Pandora's battery and Magic Memory Stick

You need to create a Pandoras battery and a Magic Memory Stick, search up how to make and use them.

You're going to have to find someone with a homebrew-enabled PSP to make the battery for you. Or you could try it the other way which involves prying open the battery cutting some pin, and re-taping it back together...... but it's risky, the battery might not work anymore if something goes wrong. If you don't know anyone with a homebrew-enabled PSP, you'll have to find the battery online or through a mall that sells these things.

My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel
