I keep having to buy new dvd players because the ones i buy initially play burnt dvd's, but after about six months begin to pixel out.
re-burning my entire collection is not an option
is there an easy fix (eg a specific dvd player that WON'T have this problem)?
if not, would this be a viable option: installing a video card onto my pc, hooking it up to my tv and playing the burnt dvd's in my PC's dvd drive. i believe it should work because pc drives are designed to deal with burned discs. correct me if i'm wrong.
any and all help appreciated! :D
Regards

LOL!!I don't think you have a DVD player problem. The problem is the discs that you are using for burning, the speed you burn, the size. Basically, if you have poor quality media, in time they will turn to crap!!
What is the MID of the discs that you are using?
Here is some reality check:

definitely it's your media that you burned to and not your burner/player! to stop pixelations, skipping, freezing, disk not recognized and other related media problems use good quality media! Taiyo Yuden (found online) are the best IMHO! Verbatim is next. Using good media to begin with will stop many problems from occurring! CMC MAGs (memorex and other brands) have a tendency to become crap after a while and unreadable/playable! here is a media guide for you:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
this media guide is not the total on what is good and what is compatible with every drive/burner/player but is a good indication on what's out there and what is perceived good media! I disagree with it's findings of TDK media... it's second rate at best! But Taiyo Yuden and other disks that are MIJ (MADE IN JAPAN) are the best! use them and you can't go wrong!

If you have Nero, you can use Nero CD-DVD Spedd. ImgBurn , DVD Decrypter or DVD Identifier -can tell you the MID of the disc.
"MID is an acronym for manufacturer ID. Manufacturer ID is a code placed on blank DVD-R and DVD+R media to identify the disc's manufacturer."

No labels period. Any stick on label onto a dvd will cause playback problems in time. If you want to label, either use inkjet dvds or lightscribe. Or use the good old sharpie.I happen to use a thermal ribbon printer.
