Hi all...I apologize if this info is already available (I didn't see anything at first glance) but I was wondering if there was any high-quality DVD+R DL on sale this week (ending 2/16) or starting tomorrow (2/17)? Thanks so much!
Yes...after I made my posting I saw that mentioned in another thread and tried to check it out, but they were sold out. :( Maybe something will present itself in tomorrow's sales? Thanks!
Is Memorex a good brand in the +R DL arena? Seems like I've seen a lot of people say to avoid the regular -R, +R. That's a good deal if the quality is decent!
Before yesterday, All the +16x memorex have yielded Ricohjpn-R03-001 for well over a year. Not too shabby.
But yesterday,I picked up a 100 pk spindle at Office Max and they coded as MBI- Moser Bauer out of India. Package said Made in India, but I didn't even check it before purchase. A couple test burns seems to be ok.
So,Made in Taiwan spindles of Memorex +16x should yield Ricohs. How long? We'll never know when they'll start slapping in cmags or prodisc.
The memorex DL's may be Ritek or Ricoh. Possibility they could be Mitsubishi. If they aren't verbatim, then drives will usually be hit or miss with the Ricoh or Ritek DL media. They both have improved considerably compared to last year.
Here's a Memorex 2.4x +R DL that I recieved as a bonus in a 100 pk spindle a couple months ago. It had 2 bonus DL's in it:

I haven't had any use for DL media lately, but next time I'll try it out.
A buck apiece is tempting. Just keep all packaging and receipt in case your drive doesn't like them,if you go that route.
