Blue Lines on Screen

My 5th gen (30Gb) iPod plays fine and updates fine on iTunes, but most of the time the screen is white with pencil thin blue lines on it. The screen used to work then developed the blue line problems from time to time but now just white screen and blue lines all of the time.

Don't recall it getting dropped, but it was left in the car over a couple of nights when it was extremely cold (-10) and it struggled to work after that, but after warming it up no problems. This did coincide with the display problems starting.

Any ideas before I end up having to buy a new one?
