just bought an asus maximus formula and bought a ocz reaper x 4 gig 1000 mhz ram but some said that i needed to be sure that the motherboard supported dual channel but no side by side.

anyone know if asus maximus formula support that?

Yes it supports dual channel. You can get the details from crucial.com (link below).

You'll see the details for your motherboard and one of the questions gives the answer for dual channel support.
