Videos are blank after installing XP SP2...help please!

I only just installed SP2 yesterday (a bit slow yes) cause of a USB Hub PCI Card I installed that needed SP2 to work. Once I updated, the card worked perfectly but I noticed that videos don't play properly anymore. When I open them the screen stays blank with the black screen but I can hear the sounds. This applies for avi & wmv. Video files that use quicktime work fine however when I open them with quicktime.

I'm using WMP and I've tried opening the avi & wmv files using other media players but still the same problem. I had WMP 10 at first but I thought maybe I needed to update so I got WMP 11 but still the same problem.

I updated/reinstalled my video card drivers but that also does nothing.

Has anyone else had this problem and what do I do to fix it? Thanks

try using CCCP instead for it might be a codec problem

I found out what the problem was from another site where someone had the same problem. It was the video acceleration. Had to turn it down as it was on max. If anyone else has the same problem you go to the performance tab in options and drag the video acceleration to the middle. This will only do it for WMP so for other media players you'll have to do the same for them too or if you have the option in your video card options you can do it there.
