Both of those graphics cards are terrible, but you can get a much cheaper CPU to help improve those.
Don't forget a case and power supply!

You don't say what your overall budget is, but this is what I've drawn up:
CPU - E2160 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116036 $72
Motherboard - P31-S3G http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128077 $69
2GB Corsair RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145015 $45
250GB WD HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136113 $64 (cheaper than a 160GB)
Optiarc 20x DVD burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118001 $28
Coolermaster Elite case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119115 $50
Sapphire HD2600XT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102700 $96
$15 mail in rebate
Corsair 450W PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003 $88
$10 mail in rebate

That's a stock low budget gaming build, $512 delivered, but with $25 of mail in rebates.

A 360 is not a gamer's tool, if you see what I mean. Consider yourself a "gamer" and you'll have a PC. The range of games available and the performance of online gaming systems is worlds better on a PC, but you have to spend a reasonable amount of money for the privilege. The orange box is on the xbox I believe, but I'm a bit "so what?" about it. it plays 10x better on the PC, CS:S is a PC only masterpiece, and playing RTS on a console? Please.
That's not to say I dislike the 360, I co-own one, but it's not the only means you should have of playing games.
With the X1550 you can play the Orange Box and Counter-Strike at some setting or other, maybe C&C3 too, but Red Alert 3? I wouldn't think it too likely.

well, IMO PC is better BUT you'll have to worry if your system can handle the game or not and other problems like upgrading and stuff. as for console, you can play games out of the box without worrying anything. Gaming experience is better or MUCH better on a PC...this debate can go on forever.

Anywho if you can't get a pretty good parts for a pc, rather buy a console. since you'll need to upgrade again, so save the money and buy a console instead if you know what i mean.

Essentially if you've got a budget of less than £350 or $500, go with the console. If you can afford a $500 PC plus, a PC will certainly offer a better gaming experience now, but it will seem outdated quicker.

yeah thats why you'll have to worry about upgrading, as for console you don't have to, plus "Next Gen" consoles graphics is pretty. If you're a Final Fantasy fan then console is the only option otherwise i prefer pc

Console graphics are almost always inferior to PC graphics, you just need powerful hardware to pull it off. With the recent price drops, that's not even that hard. A console's £300. An E2160, Gigabyte motherboard, HD3850, 2GB of RAM, reasonable size hard drive and even a DVD writer with a normal case and power supply is less than £400.

yes thats correct, but for a console you don't need to worry about if can play the game on great graphics b/c console graphics stays the same as for pc you'll need to upgrade in the next few months to have a decent graphics. Ugh! like i said debate between pc and console can go forever!
