Odd Lots/ Big Lots: Original Dvd's for $3

I just got from my local Odd Lots and they had a display of Original Dvds for $3. They were the ligitimate ones,not the generic ones in the thin packs.
I picked up Sniper 2 just to make sure they were true. Full Disc cover and pressed in-no generic copy.
There were probably 25 or so titles. Here's a few:
The Dark
Lords of Dog Town
The Forgotten
The Cavern
Mr. Deeds
I forgot some of the other good flicks and they had some that I never heard of:
A Texas Chainsaw Massacre flick starring Mathew Maconaghey or however you spell his last name.
Their Blank media: Only Philips/verbatim vinyl cd-r or JVC 5 pk with jewel case for $3.50
I'm not sure if this is local only or nationwide,so heads up if you have an Odd Lots/ Big Lots.

saugmon- Yeah my lil' dancin' Booger Buddy ! Big Lot's /Odd lots Stores Have a little bit of everything sometimes ! You can often pick Up Great movies Really Inexpensively ! They tend to be older movies buT as long as it's a good movie that's not really important! The only Possible Problem to watch out For and so far this has only applied to The Vhs Titles at My Big Lots is sometimes they get Big time movies But they are intended for The Hispanic market = Mexico ,S.A. , Puerto Rico ect... and are Therefore naturally in spanish ! I have'nt noticed This yet in The DVD'end - Though There does seem to be a lot of Anime titles at my local Big Lots ! I even Found a copy of Vanna White's one Starring Role on DVD there for $1.50 in one of Those Carboard Sleeves -Title{ Venus Godess Of Love } and all I can say about it is " Ooh!!!! She Turns Letters Good !!" to quote The Late Merv Griffin !!!! But I have picked up some good titles there now and again I Got a Copy Of Monty Python's And Now For something Completely different A greatest Skits /hits Disc thats a Flipper Dvd FS/WS and a few Others ! You can also sometimes pick up computer & audio accessories on the cheap there too ! The trick is like shopping at sams club If you think you want it buy it cause when you finally decide you want it it'll be gone ! You can also pick up Gourmet nibbles ( FOOD ) quite reasonable and snacks too ! Well Goood luck & Happy Shopping ********CHARGE IT LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here in the Carolinas they are called Big Lots, and I have from time to time seen the older 8X Sony MIJ disks, and proceeded to stock up on them, but alas, I haven't been in one in a while and really haven't seen anything worthy of purchase, but don't give up on this company, goodies can be found.

Some of the Titles they had contained some brutal protection at the time of their release. LODT was one of them.
I used to get my memorex paper sleaves there for $5.50 per 100 pk.
Walmart's got them for $5
Staple's want $14 for the exact same 100 pk memorex paper sleaves.

I went to my closest Big lot's today ! But really did'nt see anything I really needed In the dvd/games /software section But you can't win 'em all ! I lucked onto Some sony's there myself but only once & they were as expensive as BestBuy or one of the other retailers sale price But Being MIJ's I bought them ! I did Find a pair of 10Pk's Of MIJ sony's at another big lot's a couple Of weeks ago But The Price would have worked out to about a $1.00 + ea.Disc and that was too Rich for my blood so they go to keep them for now !!!!!!!

Big Lots is always changing their inventory. They sell left over inventory from other companies.
The last time I bought some HP DVD's that coded out as Ritek. Good and cheap enough for give aways. My In-Laws are too damn cheap to ask me; They ask the wife and don't supply $hit! So I burn them Cheap Playable $hit (No way they get my Verbatim or Ty media and they don't ever borrow my movies again - They scratch 'em up so bad they won't play and freeze)

Went to a pair of Big Lots near me today. Saw some Ritek Phillips DVDR's. 25 packs for $8. Ritek HP 50 packs were $15 each. Saw some Memorex but I don't remember the price. Didn't buy any...
Grabbed two 100 packs of white CD/DVD sleeves for $4 each that were Optimum branded on the box.
A Rayovak 24 count AA alkaline batteries pack for $7. Ultralast at Microcenter would have cost me $6 for the same 24 count (in 4 packs) but they were clear across town & I didn't want to drive over there.
The movies I bought were as follows:
3 full length features $1 for the disc.
Vincent Price The Jackals
Roy Rogers The Bells Of San Angelo
Sterling Hayden Kansas Pacific
Next 5 were $3 each
Fred Macmurray Good Day For A Hanging
Annette Funicello Pajama Party both widescreen & fullscreen on the same disc. Should be a flipper with one version on each side.
Alec Guinness The Prisoner
Glen Ford Jack Lemmon Cowboy
Dean Martin double feature Who Was That Lady & How To Save A Marriage
Then two more for $6 each
The Best Of Jack Benny 40 episode collection
John Wayne The Early Years. Has 3 full length 12 chapter serials on 3 discs one per serial. Hurricane Expres, The Three Musketeers & Shadow Of The Eagle.
Need to unwrap these & watch them sometime....

Yup Yup!!! - Lately Big lot's Stores as they call them here have had some pretty Decent titles in the Budget Bin for $3.00 ea. - Granted mostly older Titles but as long as it's a good Title/movie nothing wrong with that ! Over the past month I've managed to find titles like -Flatliners ,RoboCop2, Desert Heat& Knock off=Jean Claude Van Dam-FS,The Fog=WS/FS, Bats ,The Mask# 1, X-Men ,X2 X-Men United- FS 2 disc set, Solo, & Once Bitten,D.E.B.S(special Edition,The DEEp, FX, &FX-2 Some are WS ,some FS and some are Both =Flipper Disc and One Dollar Cartoon disc =Superman for My Nieces kids -in a Slimline case !!!Hey I can't complain cause @ $3.00 ea. that''s even cheaper then Wallyword most times $5.50 each or maybe $4.00+ Change if your lucky ! And a lot of the Titles at Big Lot's are Either FS or WS/FS Flipper Disc which ain't to bad ! Personally on Most titles old or new I wish they all were either Flipper disc FS/WS or Dual layer with Both Versions of the movie ! Instead of the Bonus material { out takes , Gag reels , Director's commentary ect.. Basically Video Fluff /Filler material and recycled crap from the movie !But That's me anyway !! I ended up buying up the remaining 10 boxes of their cd/dvd sleaves,so I'm stocked up for the year.
Their regular dvd media wasn't much of a bargain,but exactly the same as bratcher posted.
One thing I noticed,before christmas,their large disc wallets were very reasonable. Between $8-$12 for 100+- 200+ wallets including the sweet Body Gloves.
They jacked the prices up on them this year,so I get them free from Pepsistuff.com,including free shipping!!!!!! Drink lots of pepsi and get free cd wallets!!!!!

saugmon- FWIW I found some Generic 48 Disc Capacity Cd/DVD wallets At Walgreens Drug stores ! They're like $2.00 each And are Pretty Decent quality as long as your not banging Them around alot ! The Plastic Disc Sleves are a little thin But they hold the disc good and the zippers work well ! No I don't think they are in Case Logic's or Body glove's class but They are still a pretty good value I compared them to the $ 5.00 models walgreens had and they did'nt look any better ! ? I burned a back up set of 5 Series , Supernatural season 1, Dark Angel season 1&2, & Pwee-wee's Playhouse season 1 which would be 23 DVD's and if your using the fullsize DVD cases that's a lot of space and cases where the wallets Don't take up hardly any room at all ! Besides if your lucky you sometimes can find the MIJ's Sony's there {Walgreens) as well ! Good luck hand happy shopping !!!!!!!!!

I get the 40 cd wallets for a buck each at the local flea market.I gotta pick up several for special projects.
Walgreens had Hitachi Maxell +8x,but were pricey at over 60 cents each.I get in there to hit their Milk,Soda Pop,and Wylers lemonade drink mixes.

I would have bought them all just like I bought all the Maxell 4x yellowtops that Walgreens had 3 years ago. I think those were either Hitachi or TY back then as they were marked MIJ. Sadly I haven't seen any Sony or Maxell MIJ in quite awhile. Hit a Walgreens in Deer Park when I'm on that side of town plus check the 3 that are closest to me in northwest Houston from time to time.

Well It's not an everyday occurance I'll grant you that - But the Devil is in the details and the Thrill of the Hunt is what makes it Fun ! I did Find a MIj Spindle Of sony's at a Local Walgreens(About 3 month ag0)and It was on sale ( well For walgreens anyway ) They only had one 50ct. Tub on the shelf & I got it $ 15.00 or so if I remember right ? The irony is that if you Find Some MIJ sony's Maxells or even rarer to Extinct ? Mij Fuji's they either are'nt on sale or are to Richly priced ? If I can order Taiyo Yudens online cheaper or Get Verbatims at a lower price point Then there I go ! and If someone Has Sony's or maxells on sale That you could price match then the store that had the Mij's does'nt anymore ! but Like Dumpster diving the quest is the thing ! I don't know But I feel like I accomplished something good when I find some MIj'a & even better If I can get them on sale ! Never give up Never give in LOL!!!!!

It does it everytime someone posts after me. I have to click the "unsubscribe to thread" link to get it to work right. That's why I didn't get a reminder for bratcher's 5/7 post.

No, The link for the forum thread is there along with the unsub link too. They are 2 different links.
