So after I complete my downloads, and it's time to start seeding, I lose all my connectivity with other peers. The smiley faces will all turn blue and i'll get connection errors. Even on popular torrents, I'll connect to zero; although, sometimes I'll connect to 1 and upload slowly for a minute or two. When I'm actually downloading the file, I get the green face and can upload anywhere from 50k /bs to 70 k/bs. I've stil, got a decent ratio at 1.485, but that's gone down quite a bit recently. Any suggestions?

When that happened to me it turned out to be my ISP (Comcast) interfering with bittorrent.

Who is your ISP?

I have heard of a few people having this trouble with Cox lately and using encryption has helped them.

You should be in View>Advanced and Tools>Options>Mode = Advanced.

Then go to Tools>Options>Connection (expand)/Transport Encryption and set as in image below. (Press Save when finished).
This is known as Level 2 encryption and you should see a difference very soon after.
If not, then check out Avoid Traffic Shaping for the higher Levels.

EditI forgot to mention that you should also got to Tools>Options>Transfer and enable Use lazy bitfield.
