I've wasted 7 lightscribe cd's....i'm trying to burn this IMG file of dirty harry that is like 4.37gb or like 4485 MB into a playable dvd I can put into like any dvd player and not just on my pc.

I tried these instructions from another thread...

but burning dvds onto your computer gives you audio_ts and video_ts...how do i convert those folders?

I use AutoGK because it will do the job, it is free and it is easy to use.

1. Copy audio_ts and video_ts to your hdd
2. Open AutoGK and select file 01_0.ifo (normaly the movie, look video info to be sure)
3. Select audio and subtitle settings.
4. Select ouput size.
5. Add job and Start.

And I clicked the VTS_01_0.IFO file and put in 4485 into the custom size in the output after I checked all the audio tracks it listed and clicked english in the subtitles and in the output I named it to be dirty.avi and clicked add job but I don't think it worked.

If you want your files to be able to play in any DVD player you will need to use the VIDEO_TS folder. That's the way DVDs are. An AVI will not play in any player. Only the ones that are DIVX certified. An IMG file was probably created with Nero. You can open it with DVD Shrink. Follow the guides here on how to use Shrink.

I actually downloaded the image from some files and it came into the form of a .img file and I have the video_ts folder already.

I've burned avi movie files to dvd before with windows dvd maker or cyberlink dvd suite and they play in my dvd player just fine.

I'll try what you advised out.

This is not working.....it says there's this invalid file and there is an error and then when I remove it the program says it failed to open it and i'm about to flip.

Almost any ZIP program will open this file. What do you see inside?

Extract those files to a new folder then process the Full DVD using FixVTS. Then open with Shrink.

The files are already extracted to the file I named Dirty... I'll do these other steps and see how it goes.

It opens to this: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/8931/02242008063731jh1.png

It won't let me copy all of them which do I click first and do I like add them one by one or what?

I've gotten to here:

You can put it where you want. You can click on Browse and choose where you want to put it or you can create a new folder.

You stated that you wanted files that could be played in any DVD player. That would be the VOB files. What you will have there is the main movie in DVD format. Now if you want to convert it to AVI, you can use the files in that new folder but an AVI will not play in any player. You have to check if the ones you have play AVI.

It seems so short when I play it....like the whole movie is about an hr long and then it goes to some other part of the movie like the end is repeating or something.

I just compared my movie to your screen shots. They're not even close. Try re-author again but this time bring titles 1 and 3 to the left side. The movie should be 1 hr 42 min.
