Connect Xbox 360 and Wii to component at the same time?

Hi guys i was just wondering if this is possible since i dont want to damage the connectors on the tv changing between the two consoles all the time. tv is a samsung 40" if that is of any relevance.

I guess you only have one component input? If so, then just go buy a component switch.




This will allow you to switch through the different component inputs - one being the Xbox and the other being the Wii.

4-Port component video switch

The one above will run about 130 dollars. They all seem to be fairly expensive IMO. Cheapest one I found was a 2-port switch that was selling for 99 bucks.

lol I dont mean to be fussy but damn they are ugly lol. will they still work exactly like connecting the console directly to the tv?

Yes, you will plug both of them into input1 and input2 then, take another set of component cables and plug those into the output of the switch, which will go into the tv.

If you're looking for something that has a sleek design to it, maybe this JVC switch would work.




I found that particular one at RadioShack.

Thanks for all your help goodswipe. I found this it has mixed reviews but it is cheap so i think i will give it a shot what you think?

Yea, that should do the job! The only difference between the one I showed you and that one is the audio hookups. The one I showed you has a digital coaxial input, much better for audio then 2-channel stereo(red/white)that's on the other one. But hell, I guess paying 80 bucks extra isn't worth it, I know I wouldn't pay it! ;)
