Just a quick question. I have a feeling that my power supply may be bad in my xbox. I bought a computer fan, the ones with the Y-splitter, and installed it, but the fan just doesent seem to be spinning very fast, at least, not as fast as it would in a computer, I think. My question is how would I know that my power supply is beginning to fail me?

Is the fan running on 5V or 12V? Is it connected to a yellow wire or a red one basically, red is only 5V. If it is rated for 12V, then it will be running slower than usual. What makes you feel the PSU might be bad? Has it done something strange, or is it just paranoia?

Another power supply shouldn't be too hard to obtain if it does die on you, worst case you just get a second hand xbox with the right supply version and use the rest of it for spares.
