What is the deal with this site, I joined for $19.95 and when I went to download software It downloaded Ares Ultra does anybody know the deal with this. I thought it was legit?

There is no way that is a legit site.. I think you just got burned.

It tried to download malware on the login page too.......

I can't say for certain, but it looks like it is a scam site, with software available for free elsewhere.
Found this in their FAQ (and this is what is found at all such sites):

The software is completely free of charge. What you pay goes towards supporting our technical team and paying for the creation of more user guides. If you're unsatisfied, you can always cancel your membership and keep the software.

I have seen this before with sites giving uTorrent and Azureus and charging a fee.
They are basically charging for something that is free, but get around it with the FAQ.

Try and get your money back would be my advice.

Well I was at least refunded $14.80 of the $19.95 through Paypal. I'm still going to pursue the rest. Those Bastards!!
