i have 1.5mbps dsl internet and im downloading at 5-15kb and im connected to 14 seeders and 35 peers. i currently switched from azures to bitlord and im pretty sure i port forwarded correctly but im not too sure. im listening from port 18824 (default port) and port forwarded my router set as any protocol with the port range of 18824-18824 to translate to 18824-18824. that is right isnt it? thats exactly the same way i had azures anyways and it made a HUGE difference

Do you know how many people have p2p clients that will refuse to send data to bitlord?

It is BANNED from every private tracker there is because it throws packets everywhere and is about as insecure as you can get. Do yourself a massive favour and go back to azureus ;)

hm didnt know that about bitlord, a friend of mine uses it all the time so i decided to try it out. ill be sure to pass on ur information to him. thanx

*edit* ok now downloading at 40-50kb but still 1 slight problem. i keep getting this error with ANY port i use

Testing port 52031 ...
NAT Error - Connect attempt to *IP Address*:52031 (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed.

DDRgod922, close up the spaces in your sig...max lines for text only sigs is 5, I count 7 with the spaces you have in your sig.

Get your router make/model and go here http://portforward.com/ ;) then have a play with your up speed on a good torrent to max it out :)

Check you have made an exception for your torrent client in your firewall settings.

i already did the port forwarding and i only use the windows xp firewall and have the program AND the port on the exceptions list. still only yellow smiley faces and NAT errors when i run the NAT test. i also tried using utorrent and that does the same thing. Any Protocol port range 45629-45629 translate to 45629-45629. and i assigned it to my computer

*edit* and there we go, 5 lined sig. i didnt even think about the spaces being used as lines and i had that sig for awhile so i figured it was all good. but thanx for telling me

*edit* got my whole static ip problem fixed and utorrent ports im using are port forwarded doing EXACTLY what the guide told me to do. and when i press the button to test the port it still comes up with the message "Welcome to the ”Torrent Port Checker.
A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 45629 on ***.****.***.***...

Error! Port 45629 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5)."

i have it as an exception to my firewall. i only use xp's firewall and with free AVG but i beleive AVG doesnt matter in this case....right?)

Disable UPnP and randomize port at options>preferences>connection and make sure the port showing is the correct one (don't use default). At options>preferences>bittorrent, use Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Check for your ISP to see if it's throttling you: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs and do a speed test a few times (various times and days) and set your upload speed at options>speed guide>connection type, utorrent adjusts it automatically and make sure your ip address is entered correctly. Windows firewall is fine with your client as an exception and AVG is okay too.

Connect directly to your modem to see if the test is green, if it isn't, your ISP is affecting things. See if anything here helps, very small download, only a jpg: http://www.plucky.org/component/option,c...le,torrent.jpg/
