I really don't think they exist! If they did I would definitely buy one. The Matroska container is so diverse that I think it would be quite hard to develop a stand alone player for it. You would need an array of codecs on board to play all the different compatible streams.
Although, it is quite easy to transfer the streams from the mkv container into different container formats for various stand alone platforms. :-D
Hey. Here is an online store that has one that is even better. It plays Blue Ray and Matroska files and a ton of other video and audio formats. It is the Dune player and it comes with a few different options. Check it out http://www.mkvplayers.com/.
Tvix is the one I like best. Right now, I have over 500 mkv movies and many TV series in iso that I stream to four rooms throughout my house with no problems.
You can stream or playback your digital media content from a variety of sources, such as your PC, NAS, digital camera, USB mass storage devices (Flash drive, HDD, DVD drive) , internal SATA HDD* and even directly from the Internet via the Media Service Portal.
It also serves as a NAS and a BitTorrentpeer-to-peer downloader** to eliminate the need to switch on a PC or other device for this purpose.
The Popcorn Hour A-110 supports the latest high bitrate video formats (MPEG2 MP@HL, H.264 HP@L4.1, VC-1 AP@L3 in TS of at least 40Mbps) to give you up to 1080p high-definition videos.
In recognition of advances in Internet TV, the A-110 supports peer-to-peer Internet TV streaming technology from SayaTV, as well as popular unicast internet TV such as YouTube, Revision 3 and Vuze via the Media Service Portal.

SETUP: I have two network cards in my computer. I use one for the internet, and I just plug the other into the workgroup switch. Then plug in all the tvix box into the same workgroup switch. I manually setup the IP addresses/mac on the computer and use different IP's for each of the tvix boxes. And it works like a charm.
If you do this and use AllegroNFS, let me know, I have a guide to quickly set it up for the Tvix.
