I just upgraded the firmware on my external Sony DRX - 810UL and now no matter what program I use it will get to either 3.2% or 3.4% completed during the writing process then stop doing anything... The first time this happened to me I let it sit for 5 hours and it didn't move at all. Of course I forgot to set a roll back point for the driver before updating firmware so now I feel that I'm stuck with what I've done. I was attempting to copy a DL DVD, I haven't attempted a regular dvd yet. Media I'm using is Verbatim DVD+R DL at 2.4X write speed. No error messages occur, it just stops doing anything what so ever. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Sorry if this has come up in another thread, I looked through quite a few pages and didn't see anything.
Hi Nick
i have a similar story on this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/633056 it could be your discs or your drive. there like Hart2Hart when they get together there's murder:) i'm searching for answers myself
Q:Is this your first attempt to burn a dvd? my pc is in regular use but i never burnt dvd-r before, just data files...just looking for similarities.....my pc is about 2 years old..am only attempting to burn to dvd now.....have done a lot of checks to find a fix but no joy just yet;)
My computer is roughly 6-7 years old and I've burned many dvd's (DL and regular) with it before. I'm using verbatim media, but it does the same with memorex, so I don't think that has anything to do with it... I haven't had need to try a regular dvd yet, dont want to waste more than I have to. It started when I was trying to use Nero and it kept hanging up so I updated the firmware and now it stops writting at 3.2% and I can't for the life of me figure it out...
you have nero installed which you only started to use. there might be a conflict if you have not uninstalled other burning software which you used previously.
Ive had many different programs on here with nero installed since I bought my external burner... never had a problem until now? So if I got rid of nero it will solve this problem?
