Can someone help me here in a simple explanation if possible. I have a plasma tv with built in freeview and also a starview box to receive all the virgin media channels.

I want to watch and record tv, preferable record one channel and watch another. What type of system do I require? and Is there a specific specification that I should be looking for when purchasing a DVD recorder box?
