hi i just updated to 3.71 m33-4 from 3.71 m33-2 and i want to know if i have to install 1.5 kernel add on to play homebrew games and if so how to install it on 3.71 m33-4

hi all u have to do is this installing the 1.50 kernel patch (150 kernel addon 2)
#download the 150 kernel addon 2 from here http://dark-alex.org/
#download the 150 update from here http://rapidshare.com/files/67857715/163_EBOOT_1.50.zip
#rename the 150 update eboot to 150.pbp and place it in the root of your memstick
#put the kernel 150 addon 2 update folder in GAME folder on memstick
#scroll to game on xmb and launch the programme
#thats it you now have the 1.50 kernel

do you have a slim(new psp version) or a phat(old psp version)?

edit: if you have a slim, then the 1.5 kernel won't work as slims do not support the 1.5 kernel.

This is probably a stupid question...but is the kernel upgrade only for fat PSP's, or is it needed on slims aswell??

because the code for 1.50 was written to support the fat psp it means that it will only work on the fat psp so you cant get it on the slim.

BUT dark_alex has released a time machine that allows you to put 3.40oe i think it is with the 1.50kernel on!!

i must say dark_alex is a amazing coder to change most of the code so it is sported on a psp that technically should be able to run it! 0_<

i was going to mention this but I was waiting to get an answer from 'Sam6226' if he has a slim or a phat, and the 3.40 oe with 1.5 is still only for the phat... the 1.5 with hw modules is the 1.5 fw that can run on the slim.

it allows you to run homebrew that still or that used to read from the 1.5 kernel(the basics of some homebrew applications), basically for old apps that is no longer being developed
