Has anyone tried out this printable media yet? Meritline sells both CD and DVD media with this BP(Best Print)logo. It appears that the media code is TYG03. I was wondering if this media is similar to the Ty Watershield printable media and specifically if it differs by eliminating the white outer unprintable edge, an unfavorable characteristic of the Ty Watershield media?

They were talking about them as well over at cdfreaks.com. Fake Ty? Real Tys? They had no clue.

That site looks ligit. If they are ligit ty's,then probably have the same white outer ring on them after printing..

Probably need a guinea pig. I'd try them, but I got plenty of Ty watershields.

What if someone lightly sanded down the outer edge of a Ty WS before printing? Say around the 1mm outer edge?

Ink should adhere, but probably no longer waterproof on that outer edge. Next project,I'll try it. I can get a hold of 6000 grit sandpaper. That grade polishes very nicely.

I checked out the thread at CD Freaks and the same question was asked and there was no answer either. Do these leave an unprintable outside white edge and are these even glossy? I too have a stock pile of Ty Watershields and as they get used up its going to be a toss up between trying these out and the Moser Baer DVD+ single layered gloss Aquashields. The MB's are a stand out in terms of a more natural glossy feel less the unprintable edge. Without knowing about the Quantum BP answers I am leaning towards the MBI's as I have already tried their DL media and they have it all covered - Glossy, water resistant, hub printable.
