Can't set record levels in EMC9

I've used EMC9 to record sounds and songs from the internet using Easy Audio Capture on another computer. On a 2nd computer, I can't adjust the recording level. It's "grayed out". It can be adjusted if I go to "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" on my taskbar when I right-click on the speaker. Can anyone tell me how to make it so that I can adjust it in "Easy Audio Capture"? Thanks in advance!
