Have nero 7 essentials installed at mo, thinking of buying Nero 8, will it install OK,
or do you have to modify registry to get Nero 8 to install correctly?

Thanks Rotary, did what you suggested, went well, also did two different registry cleans, deleted some folders it left, and ran defrag and scandisk, I installed the free Nero 7 essentials last year, after having probs with my copy of Nero 7 Ultra, decided to try Nero 7 again before making a decision on Nero 8, just tried re-installing my copy of Nero 7, when I had it installed last year, but Nero Burning ROM would not run, you just got the first window, then a error message that it must close, so after a good clean, tried again,
Nero 7 seemed to install OK, did a custom install, and did not want all the stuff, everything seems to work OK except Smartstart, which does not seem to have any progs in it, and Nero Vision, which does not run, gives an error message-
NeroVision.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
With the buttons to send MS an error report, when I click ?Don?t Send? I get ?
---------------------------
NeroVision.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The instruction at "0x0047ce8e" referenced memory at "0x017a2008". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
---------------------------
OK
Can you help please? I have the update downloaded but not installed, have not tried to re-install anything yet.

perhaps installing all app from nero then go to add/remove prgrams to get shot of what you dont want that way
also the nero v7 update sorts out lots of bugs in v7
i tried 3 versions of v7 and not good for me, v6 was the best and now i use v8 retail, one of the first to come out (i havent updated nero v8) as all i use works.
Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Thanks Rotary, was thinking along the same lines, then installing the update,
Do you think Nero 8 is better than 7, having used both?
