yes but not for the slim on 3.90m33 (i think because there was a patch needed to allow 8gb memory cards but i dont know that for sure it might have just been a patch for the 1.50addon for the phat?) and not for making a mms.
the mms needs 2gb> but 512mb is ideal for the job.

im not sure but this was what is in the readme for the 1.50addon v2 for 3.90m33

Quote:
Added support in the 1.50 kernel for memory sticks greater than 4 GB. (I finally got my 8GB card! :D) Before, only the first 4 GB portion was recognized by the 1.5 kernel. Now, the theroetical limit is 4GB*512 = 2 Terabytes. ("only" 1 TB, if sony were using signed variables).
i think it should do though because it only have the 3.90m33 and not the kernel add so it might have only been the v1 kernel addon that did support 8gb sticks

I'm not sure where everyone is getting their info from but YES you can make a magic mem stick out of an 8gb stick...

I have a perfectly working 8gb magic memory stick. I used that Total Newbie Installer thing. worked just fine for me. This was also before that patch for the 8gb stick came out. I've always wondered why people were denying the possibility of doing this. Someone school me.

PSP- CFW 3.90 m33-2
