im interested in playing some more games on my pc, but i want them to run smooth. new games run but there is a vertical line in my screen some times like its having difficulties drawing the screen fast enough. Also at higher settings they become just slower. (talking about 3D games)

according to windows system i have an intel pentium D 3.40 ghz
2046mb of RAM
My video card is a NVIDIA 7600 GT
Running on a Vista 32

what would be the best to upgrade to get a little bit more speed in games?

oh and my video card has to video outs, one which i use to connect to my tv, its on low resolution an usually isnt used, still does it matter allot if i disable it or not?

You might want to try upgrading your video card and processor.

Upgrade your processor to an Intel Core 2 Duo. I reccomend the E6550.

Upgrade you graphics card to a 8800 GTS.

you can get both of them at newegg.com

This is probably a stupid question but the E6550 is 2.3ghz and my current processor is 3.4ghz, are you sure this is right, or am i getting it wrong?

pentium d is weaker than core 2 duo. eventhough you may have a higher speed, the architecture of the pentium d isn't great, compared to a C2D. any C2D will run better than a pentium d.

i'd upgrade the videocard first, before getting a new processor. either the nVidia 512 8800GTS, or the ATi 512 HD3870 will fit your needs. if you get the 8800GTS, make sure to get the 512, not the 320 or 640.

got a whole lot more to list . . .
