Panasonic DMR-EZ27 vs. DMR-ES25 - same unit + Digital Tuner?

I'm in the market for a good DVD recorder to save some stuff from my DVR , put my home videos on DVD and maybe to burn a slideshow or two from my SD card digital camera. I think I read in a previous post that these two units were virtually the same unit with the addition of the digital tuner. If the EZ27 has no enhancements other than the tuner, I have digital cable and a digital tuner in the TV so the tuner has no value for me. I'm seeing old stock new ES25'ss for less than half the price of the EZ27 so that's looking pretty good if there isn't another compelling reason to get the new model
