I'm trying to rip a DVD recorded on a home DVD recorder to a WMV file on my Mac, to play in my son's Zen. Although the tools I have (IMToo DVD ripper, Mac DVD Ripper, etc.) work fine for commercial DVDs, I cannot get a successful rip from the home burn--the best I get is an output file with video, but no audio.

I've confirmed that the DVD has audio, and it plays fine on my Mac with Mac's DVD Player. The problem may relate to the DVD's structure: It has a VIDEO_TS folder (with VOBs, IFOs and BUPs) and a VIDEO_RM folder. When I try to rip with IMToo, the program surrounds its selection for audio stream with question marks--it seems unsure how to locate it in the VOB.

Folks recommend an older tool called YADEX to do the rip, but it's doesn't seem to do the trick. What I guess I need is a ripping or conversion tool that can locate the audio and output a standard audio/video WMV. Any ideas? Thanks
