I have a regular Panasonic DVD recorder. I was wondering if that was capable of recording a HD TV signal. My Plasma TV is HD and now I am getting quite a few channels in HD from Comcast, but if I record using a standard def DVD recorder would it record the image in HD quality?

Sorry but no. DVD is always 480i.

There is a way to record high-def from a Comcast cable box using firewire though:
