Ive tried the unofficial snes 3.xx port and it lags alot more than the official one. Is there any fix for this, like a easy way instead of frameskips or if there are some kind of downloadable settings for each game or something?
thx

sorry but it something you'll have to live with there is always problems with emulators. the only thing i suggest is changing the cpu speed to 333mhz on snes9x its in the settings and change the frameskip to about 2 (you wont notice the skip and the game will speed up). apart from that there not much more you can do 0_<
hope that helps

Yea, ive already tried that. Except for the CPU Speed it is fixed at 300Mhz. I was just wondering if there was a newer one for the slim. The emulator on my phat runs nicely, until the 3.xx port.
but thx.

snes9xTYL 0.4.2 is what i use on my slim, and it's running fine. some games need the framerate increased to 2.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .

Is it safe to use the 300 speed, what speed does everyone recommend for the clock speed? And if you use higher clock speeds should you limit how long you play etc. new to the emulator, any advice or other tips that people know would save my some time experimenting or breaking my psp ;)

also does anyone know the difference between the various engine options etc, or should i not be concerned with them, the emulator seems a bit laggy.

its safe to set the cpu speed to 300 or if you can even 333mhz the only down side is that it will be a bit of a battery drain. any think above 333mhz ( which you cant set it to) will overclock it which can damage the console but you can set it above 333 so dont worry
as for the various engine options just muck about with the different ones test it out theres no chance of anything going wrong because its a emulator. also try the frame skip option that always speeds up a game
hope that all helps 0_<

how did you get snes9xTYL 0.4.2 to work on your slim?
on the website i downloaded it from, there are 2 versions:
standard version snes9xTYL 0.4.2 (run in user mode) or
me version snes9xTYL 0.4.2me (run in kernel mode, uses me for sound emulation)
my slim has cfw 3.71 m33-4.
i have tried both versions, and neither seem to work. i always get a 'game could not be started' message, with either 8002014C, or 80020148 error codes.
i aint got a clue what user mode, or kernel mode are - could this have something to do with it?
cheers for any replies :)
ps sorry for being a noob!

I have not tried it on a slim before, but the read me says it will run on 3.xx (meaning kernel). Check in Recovery what kernel you are running, then use the kernel mode.
That error msg appears when it is either the wrong kernel or No UMD / UMD required. As it runs from as a emulator it cannot be the UMD option :-)
PSAnyone know how i can get rid of the thick black borders each side of the visible screen?? Playing Starfox

isn't there a chance of bricking my slim if i change the kernel?
i've found another setting in Recovery (irrelevant to this post, sorry) that says 'Free UMD Region (currently Disabled)' - if i change this to Enabled, will that let me play JAP etc ISO/CSO's? or can i do that anyway with 3.71 m33-4?
cheers

nope:)
changing kernels can't result in an a brick!
be sure to get the 1.50v2 kernel for your psp!
http://exophase.com/files/psp/150kernel_addon2.rar
(1.50v2 kernel not included with cfw)

you can do that anyway (some exceptions), it allows you to play games from different areas via the umd!

no prob ;)
have now deleted 150kernel_addon2.
changed game folder homebrew to 1.50 kernel, re-start psp, load snes9xTYL 0.4.2me - 'game could not be started' error 80010002.
have tried looking for the error in the thread '!Errors All Explained!' but it aint listed.
i tried have all UMD modes i.e Normal -UMD required-), M33 driver - NO UMD-), Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-), and OE isofs legacy -NO UMD-) but still get the error 80010002. settings in advanced menu are disabled.
which version of snes9xTYL are you using - normal or me? and which cfw are you using? could these be making a difference to mine not working?

amazing that is one of the few tutorials not uploaded by an idiot:)
Quote: To install, simply put the Snes9xTYL folder in 3.xx (in the zip file) into your PSP slims PSP/GAME360 folder.

hey no probs
i've tried a few games since sticking cfw on my slim, and most of them have worked without a glitch.
there has only been a couple of games that haven't loaded, or another couple that have said the memory card is full so the game can't be saved (even tho i have an 8gb memory card lol!) so it was pointless playing those ones.
overall, most have worked 1st time so i'm glad i cfw'd my slim :-)

haha oops it's a while since i read my last post!
i said i would leave a post if i got the games to work, so that's what i did, although i was talking about psp iso's and cso's haha!
as far as the zsnes game go, i thought that most of the games i tried to run, were a bit jumpy/glitchy, even after playing about with the settings etc. being a perfectionist, i decided to delete zsnes from my slim. now i just use my pc to play snes games on ;-)
