Hey everyone, I am building my new htpc and was trying to backup all my dvds to my hardrive while loosing the least amount of quality if none at all. I wanted to know the best way to puit a dvd movie on your hard drive to be viewable without loosing any quality or the least possible, Anmy ideas? I will be using Vista Media Center so if it plays in that even better. I was looking at Divx but know one looses quality in there and wasnt too sure.

You can use Divx, just increase bitrate. For a 4.5gb movie I only reduce to 2gb. I know I could go smaller but i've got 4.5tb of drive space to play with.

Hey I was converting the dvds to MPEG4 h.264, on 720P do yall think its good format to convert my dvds and keep go quality, it takes a while to convert but it looks quite good. I used divx and xvid but i didnt like how it looked, I dont care about storage got pletny of space.
