Ok im new to all this xbox harmoding/softmodding stuff. I just got an xbox and its hardmodded running EvoX BIOS. Is it possible (safe) to softmod a hardmoded xbox? Would it mess up the BIOS?

Okay you're hardmodded, no need to softmod. What dashboard are you running? Softmodding is a way to modify the console without having to buy a chip(hard mod).

the one that every regular xbox comes with. My BIOS is EvoX. I looked it up on wikipedia and it said its outdated and obsolete. See the reason why im asking is cuz i want to FTP into the xbox. Ive followed several tuts a-z but none of them seem to work. If you could help me out with this ill appreciated much.

Are you sure you're hardmodded? Turn it over and look at the rubber feet and the nameplate. Are they obviously tampered (the screws are underneath them). If they are and I think they are, then download AID from here and create a disk, insert it in the console and load your dashboard of choice, from there you can ftp and everything else.

You can just find an ISO image of evolutionx, but AID is so useful for a lot of things, that I recommend you get it, don't get the lite, get the full version.
