PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I can play DVD's so there is nothing rong with Nvidia!
But wenn i play avi or mpeg with Mediaplayer, Divx, Allplayer or Crystalplayer or ANY OTHER PLAYER I see a black screen and I hear sound. I have tried all the codecs in the world and nothing works!!! This happens with any movie file!!!!!!!!
Can you help me please?
P.S. Could directx9.0 have anything to do with this?
