Hey, is it worth me spending £1,500 on a Sony Bravia 40X3000? I need a good HDTV and I heard this is a really good TV. Shall I get it?

Hell no! I bought a 46" Sony Bravia KDL46V2500 for USD $1900.00 (£935). I know it's not the most current model but the price was right when I bought it. Even cheaper today.

Because I paid less for a 46" than you will pay for a 40". I can't comment on the TV market in the UK but can only guess that prices should be comparable to U.S. prices. I do recommend that you shop around.

Bought mine from an on-line dealer and paid at least $500 than local retailers.

Price isnt really an issue for me. The TV you bought is V2500, which is a dated model. Plus, I only want a 40" because any bigger wont fit in my room. I only want the X3000 because its one of the newer models.

Nice set.
Doubling the refresh rate on the Sony's newer X models, sure is a great selling point.

Yes, do go for that model. I wouldn't hurt to do a bit more shopping for a better price.
