Hey all,

I purchased a SM set last year, and have had no trouble with the DVD copy. The CD copy on the other hand, is a whole other story.
No matter what, it will not work on my slim PS2. I tried it on my brother's slim, and it happens to work just fine. Strangely, all of my CD-based games work fine. (it's just the SM)
So, after browsing the pages here, I found a link to something titled "DVDloader", located at Sksapps, which claims to boot CD-based games with the SM DVD.
I downloaded, unzipped, burned to DVD, and it starts up with the DVD SM. After I get to the menu, now what? It will not boot up my CD import, nor anything CD-based.

The question is, how the heck do I work this thing?
I did find an internal menu that has some options in it, but clicking on them brings me back to the DVDloader's menu. (basically, they do absolutely nothing)

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me! :)

I think you need to load (no swap) an original ps2 game (cd-based) to refresh the TOC. Then you can swap in your backup. Though an even better option would be to convert your game to a DVD.

CD-ROM games spin like mad in the ps2 while DVD-ROM games do not. Just checkout this link.

Could I have a big step-by-step process on what I'm supposed to do?
Here's what I've been doing so far:

-First, I boot up SM 3.6 DVD.
-Second, I insert the DVDloader and start it.
-Third, I press X and choose one of the 5 CDloader options. (is this necessary?)
-Fourth, refresh the TOC with Chulip, a 500-something MB game to load the 300-something MB Naruto bonus disc.
-Fifth, I swap Chulip with the bonus disc in the style of SM.
-The screen goes red, and it says "Error Validating PS2 disc".
-Finally, the disc stops, and at the bottom of the screen it says "Invalid PS2 disc".

What's going on here? I'm swapping everything correctly, nothing is a back-up of any type, yet the thing keeps rejecting the disc.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks! :)

Do any of the 5 cdloader options say anything about region (PAL,NTSC)?

Nope. Each of them says CDloader followed by Beta1, Beta2, Beta3, Beta4, and Beta5. That, and some option that has Splinter Cell in all capitals.

Have you tried all of the Beta options?
