Question about firmware 3.80.

I have a PSP with firmware 3.80 and I have a simple question. If I have these things:

1. PSP
2. USB Cable
3. Laptop with XP
4. 512 Memory Duo
5. A demo UMD (one that was included with PSP)

Will I be able to run ISOs either through my stick or laptop HD? If it is possible to run ISOs without any extra tools or accessories (only software and other downloads), is there any easy guides? Thanks!

Now I don't really have any knowledge of what to go for here.

Do I download the 1.50 kernel (if so, what is it), or Custom Firmware, or Time Machine. So confused :(.

Should be put in Mod and firmware discussion.

The firmware 3.80 is a official firmware (made by sony) and is not able to run ISOs. The custom firmware (hacked by dark-alex) is a firmware which allows you to do lots of things, it also allows you to run ISOs.

If you wish to get into custom firmware, you must downgrade. Use this guide
