I have a Panasonic DVR (DMR-EH75V) and it says that to get channel listings I have to leave it off for at least 24 hours. As you can imagine, this is quite an inconvenience because while it's off, well, I can't watch TV. So, does anyone know if this leaving it off for 24 hours things is a one time deal, or will I have to do it like every 8 days?

Why do you need the DMR-EH75V on to watch TV? Doesn't your TV have its own tuner?
If you want to use the TVGuide feature and the TVGuide information is broadcast on your cable, the Panasonic must be off to receive the information. The TVGuide is constantly being updated, so it's best to leave the machine off when not in use. You should be able to watch TV without the Panasonic being on. Something isn't wired up correctly.
Ok, so it turns out I didn't have it connected correctly. But now I have a new problem. Here's how I have to connected now: The cable from the wall is connected to the DVR. The DVR is connected to the cable box through a coaxial cable and also to the TV through audio/video cables. And the cable box is connected to the TV through a coaxial cable and to the DVR through audio/video cables. Now, because the cable goes straight from the wall to the DVR, there's no way to change the channel for the default input (RF) and therefore, it's always on channel 3. In order to record anything other than channel 3, I have to set the DVR to record on Input 3. BUT, the manual recording screen doesn't give me the channel option for any input other than RF. So yeah, I'm stuck. Any ideas?
The way it works is that the Panasonic pulls in TV Guide information on the coax, where the TV Guide info is present on the vertical blanking interval of your local PBS station (typically). All recording is done via input 3 though. For scheduled recordings, the IRBlaster should change the channel on the cable box. For manual recording, you just push input select on the remote and select input 3. Maybe there's more info in the manual that makes this cleaer.
