Help..God of War 2 backup froze when saving the game

I ripped the image off an original copy and burned the iso to a dual layer, after applying the toxic patch and memento patch. First it went black screen after the cutscene of Kratos being shrunk. I searched the internet and found out that if I change it to widescreen, it will work. And it worked. But after I arrived at my first save point, I tried saving the game and it froze with the screen having that god of war symbol... please help me.. I can't find any solution on internet, what do i do?

I have a slim ps2 v15 ntsc version. I don't have swap magic or a modchip as I use Memor32.

This is the only thread I know of where people have burned GOW 2 and say it works on the memor32.
You could read through it and ask those that did it if they have any problems.

I couldn't get my copy to work on my NTSC V14 so am no help to you.

Actually, how long did you wait for? I thought it froze too because the first save point took like 15 minutes or so to save.

30 mintues.. then I turned it off. I even tried switching the memory stick from memor32 to sony 8mb after the game booted
