HD3870, hands down. The 9600GT fares almost as well as the HD3870 when AA and AF are turned on, but nvidia's AA and AF is low quality compared to ATI's. If you don't use AA or AF (or use one but not both) the HD3870 is streets ahead.

MSI make decent cards, and that's a decent price. It has the proper stock 3870, which is amazingly quiet, even at full load, and keeps the card properly cooled unless you overclock it. Even if you do, you can force the fan speed up in RivaTuner.

Since we both have the reference cooler, that's effectively the same as my card (although MSI probably have better support than powercolor!) - you'll love it.
