Hi!

I was trying to rip the Sixth Season of 24 some friend lent me.

I used clone dvd on all 6 dvd's so i get DVD5 for all of them.

Then i was trying the first DVD which has 4 episodes... So to rip the first episode i select the .IFO and then select the first PGC. You can see it it this picture.

But at the end, the .avi file created isn't the video ripped from the First PGC but from all the PGC's, so it rips the DVD as whole...
You can see the properties of the .avi created here..

How can I correct this? It's my first time using 2.45 I remember i an older version of AutoGk I didn't have this problem...

edit: i just notice that this isn't the right forum to post this problem.. If a mod could move this post to the right forum!

If you use DVD Decrypter to rip the movie using IFO mode, you can select the required PGC (then right click on it and choose 'File Splitting' 'None').Then you can load that episode ok.
I think it's something to do with how episodic disks are structured.

i had the same problems while ripping FRIENDS episodes.

I have your solution.

First install DVD shrink

This solution was given by attar

1. If you load the DVD files from the VIDEO_TS folder in 'DVD Shrink', you will see the audio and subtitle streams on the right side of the window.

2. Select 'Re-author'.
If your disk has only one title containing the episodes, it will be shown as 'Title 1' on the right panel.

3. Drag title 1 from right to left, right click on it and select 'Set Start/End Frames' , you can use the sliders to choose your episode, then click 'ok'.
4. Click 'Backup' and in 'Backup Target' elect to save the files to a new folder on the hard disk (the audio and subs that were initially checked, will be included).

Now you have same DVD in other folder with each chapter as a separate vob and ifo file

see this thread for pictorial details on dvd shrink

have a look at this pic of dvd shrink url is http://img80.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20ff7zath2.jpg

rip each episode separately now.

It seems that what you want, is to convert to avi. why are you using compressors like clonedvd2 or shrink? just rip each episode to your HD with fab(free), then use AUTOGK to convert them to avi. no need to compress first.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.
