I have tried DVDfab HD Decrypter 4 and DVDFAB Platinum plus a straight DVDShrink and I can't get this movie. I have googled the movie but not found much in terms of others having an issue. Anyone have any idea how I can rip this?

There is a thread on this movie here somewhere, can't find it yet; however all that is needed is most certainly just DVDFab. Give us more to go on ?

Sorry for the lack of info. DVDfab tries to open the movie and finally ends with a "Reading/Writing Error Control" with the ability to Retry, Abort, Ignore or Ignore All. Same error with the Platinum version. As for Shrink, i get a cylindrical redundancy error. I usually always rip the movies with dvdfab and then shrink and burn with Shrink.
I should also mention I am using DVDFab 4.1.1.6 Beta. I was using the latest general release version but since it wasn't working, I installed the beta version to give it a go.
Thanks,
Mike

Revolver was do-able long ago with DVDFab, so i'd check the disc for grime/scratches. Any googling i've done seems to say the same thing anyways

Well, I checked the disc for scratches and there don't appear to be any. Funny thing though, I noticed what can only be described as a "pit" on the disc. Not a nic but just a wierd looking area on the disc that that looks wrong. I can't really describe it but I'm sure you are both right and the problem must be related to a damaged disc. I've got over 400 burns and besides 3:10 to Yuma and Good Luck Chuck this is the only one I haven't been successful at.
Thanks for the advice. One more question and that is sort of on topic but please let me know if I should post elsewhere.... I am ripping with dvdfab and burning with shrink however on a 60" 1080p Sony, my burns look quite pixelated at times. What would the gurus here at afterdawn recommend for as the best solution. I am keeping the entire disc which I assume is need for a higher compression ratio and in turn a less than perfect resulting copy. Should I change software, change to dual layer discs or just keep the original movie and no extras? Suggestions concerning the best results for my situation would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike

I have a Sony 60" SXRD and on higher compressed movies i ether use a DVD+R DL Verbatim or use an encoder called DVD Rebuilder takes more time using DVD Rebuilder but the quality is outstanding. doing the movie only helps too (less compression) and there a freeware version of it. use quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burning at 4x to 8x max is a must to for quality. you want to keep the compression 75% or less with the Sony 60" for picture quality

mckd2002,
Every now and again I run into this problem. I just place the "problem" disc in my secondary drive and attempt to rip again. If that doesn't work, I try RipIt4Me or go to my other pc.
I also second what ZoSoIV says about DVD-RB. The picture quality is much better than DVD Shrink with higher compression.
