Daytek 950-S Cannot convert to Liteon?

I am now convinced that this unit cannot be converted to a Liteon 5045 as was my original assumption. The chips in the Liteon are LSI chips while those in the Daytek are made by Cirrus Logic and seem to have built in Macrovision detection. I have the upgraded firmware but using the hacker, I can't find any string for a Macrovision defeat. The 950-S is still useful though as the hard drive can be pulled and put into a computer where individual program files can be accessed, edited and authored with programs like Womble Mpeg DVD Wizard and TMPGEnc DVD Author. It's nice to not have to burn a copy to a DVD before ripping to the computer HDD. Quite a savings in time...
