Torrent Sending Emails?

I was downloading a torrent file, have PG running and my avg firewall running. Suddenly my avg pops up that is is scanning emails. I was not doing anything online at all, and it said the email was being send to some numbers.torrents, but it happened so quickly I couldn't get the address. What is this? Should I be worried?

sounds like you might have a nasty one on your system, i would install zone alarm, or something like that.

I get that message form AVG every once in a while.
Most likely it is that someone you are connected to is using a port in their BT client that is usually used for email and your AVG is misinterpreting it.

Thats what I read elsewhere, I just wanted to make sure they didn't have someway to send emails from a torrent. That would be something shady.
