I have recorded music videos off MTV on to my DVD recorder and dubbed them to DVD. I ripped the DVD with DVDFAB HD Decrypter and then extracted the AC3 audio from it (direct DeMux). I match the channels and maximize the volume to 0dB in GoldWave. I saved the AC3 files into WAVE and then convert them into MP3s so I could listen to them in my MP3 player. When I play the files, the right channel (/earphone) is noticeably louder than the left. The only way I can get the channels the same is by making them mono.

Due to music piracy being illegal, I thought this would be a legal solution for getting music without paying retail.

Is there any way of making the sound stereo so it sounds balanced?
