Sleep.exe not found - Spyware and trojan virus on XP

I have exactly the same problem as ozz3000 (20 december 2007 post), since yesterday. I was trying to download a keygens to authorize some programas, and apparently I got a virus. After I while I rebooted my computer and that's when I started getting a pop up message that reads
" Windows cannot find 'sleep.exe'. Make sure you type the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button and then click Search?.

As soon as I close this window, Internet Explorer opens suddenly and goes crazy. I have to keep closing the IE window several times. When I finally get it to stay closed, I get another message that reads
?There was a problem sending the command to the program?
On some other forum I read that I what I got is a very dangerous and malicious spyware or virus, a version of a Trojan. And the only remedy they give to this problem is to reformat the HD. The problem is this computer is a Mac Intel on which I am dual booting both Mac OSX and Windows XP. Being totally new to this dual booting thing, I don?t dare to reformat the computer. Besides, I haven?t got a copy of Windows XP with me right now. If I reformat the Windows XP partition, I wouldn?t be able to reinstall XP on my computer for a while.
Could anyone help me fix this mess without having to reformat the HD?
